I have a 239 GB Bootcamp partition on my iMac Pro and I am running Win10 Home (21H1) without problems.  I did this to run the new MS FS2020 software.  I figured 239 GB would be enough space, but no.  The latest FS2020 update says it can’t install because there is not enough space.  There is a Microsoft Flight Simulator FAQ that says it is possible to “move” an installed app to another drive.  I have attached a 1 TB SSD formatted with NTFS, so that is where I want to move the app.  The FAQ says to open Settings, select Apps > Apps & Features and then select the app I want to move.  I select FS2020 and the only option available is “Uninstall”. Is this a limitation of the Home version of Win10 – or something else?  If I can’t safely move the application, I will have to uninstall and then re-install – all 120GB (to start) – lots more updates will be needed.  I have a fast (cable) internet connection, but that takes a lot of time.

    Any suggestions?

Not sure why it doesn’t give you the move option, but I suspect it has to do with the Bootcamp partition.

What you asked can be done manually with symlinks.  Symlinks are machine shortcuts that are created in a command prompt.  Unlike other shortcuts which are viewed by the PC as a shortcut and not the file the shortcut points to, the PC will follow the symlink to the actual files.  Thus you can move all the files of an installed app to another drive and leave a symlink in its place.   All shortcuts and updates to that file will be redirected to the files on the drive you moved them to.

I wrote an article explaining Symlinks and how to create them.  See the attachment.  Refer to Example 3 and it is how to move an app to another drive.

Let me know if you need further help.
