Just received four MS updates in Updates and Security.  I understand KB890830, the Defender file update and I believe KB4589212 is an Intel Microcode Update- but I am at a loss reFeature Update to 20H2 (already installed on my computer)  Question 1, should I hide the Intel Microcode update?  I recall words to this effect on this forum. Question2, another Feature Update to 20H2, what is going on here? The same update or different? No KB identification. See attached.  Many thanks.

I did check GPedit and all settings are correct per PKCano’s detailed list. However, I really believe the Windows Version was previously displayed as 20H2 but now 2004. Another question.

Type winver in the taskbar search box and see what it says your version and Build are.

v2004 is the base/core for v2004, 20H2 and 21H1. They all get the same CU and SSU. The difference between them is just which Feature Experiemce Pack that is turned on. The Buuild number will be the significant piece of information. Build 19041 is 2004, 19042 is 20H2.

Thanks for the reply.  My Windows is 19041/2004.  Since my initial post MS have had a rethink and now the only updates pending are MS Defender Definition updates and the Malicious Software Removal Tool.  I hid the Intel Microcode KB 4589212 update and it too no longer appears in Windows Update.

I think some of the CUs have been pulled from WU. See the Main Blog Post about March patching madness.
