I am attempting to use “Data – Get External Data – New Database Query” to connect with Peoplesoft PeopleTools ODBC driver . It gets so far as to accept my Peoplesoft login and password, but then stops with the error “MSQRY32.exe” has generated errors and will be shut down by Windows.

    Other related notes:
    1. I am able to use the same driver to access Peoplesoft Peopletools ODBC via Crystal Reports with no errors.
    2. Excel’s MS Query (Get External Data) works just for other ODBC accounts (I use it to connect to Oracle database).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked with Peoplesoft? It sounds like their query response may be returning something that MS Query does not expect.
