    I am running Windows 11 64 bit.

I make images to an external Samsung 2TB  T7 SSD from an Samsung internal 1TB SSD the size is around 370 GB the operation usually completed in approx. 30 mins this has now blown out to 2 hours 30 mins. I accepted the latest update but suspected this was the culprit so I uninstalled it and re-installed version 8.0

61 61but it has not solved the problem. I own two licenced copies of Macrium Reflect. 8 can you help me?

If your license is under 12 Months old you can submit a ticket to Macrium support.  Else, since you are licensed, you can also get support from their forums. You will need to register to post.

I’m a Macrium 8 user also. Once in while I will have the same issue. In my case it’s a dramatic drop in the MBPS throughput of my USB connection that is restored after a windows re-boot. Just dragging and dropping a large test file to my external SSD shows the same issue before a reboot. Again, in my case, it’s not related to Macrium.

External SSDs may not have TRIM enabled. If not the write process will slow dramatically as you start reusing cells on the disk.
You should be able to test this with TRIMcheck.

I would also fire up a SMART utility to check the status of your SSD (you should run a SMART utility for all your disks). As it’s external you may need to do extra things in the SMART utilities to enable external disk checks.

You should be able to test this with TRIMcheck.

They’re Not kidding about “Run Twice with 20 sec gaps” ….. Test on desktop C:\ … 1st time tells me to Do What’s Necessary to Activate Trim —  BUT 2nd Run states Trim Appears to Be Working.

Had run in Admin Cmd Prompt – fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify — and got Desired 0 value = Trim Enabled. TrimCheck states it Can be Enabled BUT Not necessarily be Functioning – Never considered that..
