    Hello to all,
My Dell Vostro 1510 (32bits) is running Win7 Home Premium.
It has no more guarantees from DELL, and I can’t get any help from them.
It used to be a fast and reliable laptop. Now it is running so slow that makes its use almost negligible.
I already spent all the knowledge I have, which is not great.
It has a 25O GB HD with 70 GB free space.
It is defragmented. I made the memory tests, and the results are OK.
No virus was found by ESET NOD32 AV.
I have run sfc /scannow and chkdsk as well, and both found no problems with the system.
What other tests are suggested to be done, and what may be wrong with the system?
I appreciate any help you can give to me.
I wish all of you a Merry Xmas and a Happy 2016.
    Cheers,
    Flores

      Hello Flores,

I think you need to qualify slow. Is slow during boot? Is it slow during app start? Is it generally slow?
Have you looked at Task Manager and checked how CPU time is being used?

      Feliz Natal.
      Um abraço.

        Hello Rui,
“Long time … no see”. Hope you are doing well,

With our house full (daughters, son-in-laws and grandsons) for Christmas and New Year, I will leave these technical matters for later.
        Feliz Natal

Flores: I had the same problem that you are now experiencing. I uninstalled Flash from my computer, and things got back to normal speed.

The only downside is that occasionally there are videos I cannot watch; but that’s a small price to pay for being able to use my computer.

Does the fan run constantly? While it is running, if you place your hand near the fan exhaust vent, do you feel a lot or air being blown out, or just a little or none? If the latter, then your cooling vents are clogged with dust and need to be cleaned. This happened to me on an old Dell laptop, everything was talking 2-3 times as long to do and I found that so much dust had accumulated on the cooling vents that it looked like a piece of felt was covering them. To clean it, you’ll probably have to take it apart to get at the vents and use canned air to blow out the dust. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this, take it to a reputable laptop repair shop.
