I was in the middle of upgrading to what I call W10CU (Creators Update) Fall v1709 when

=>  up pops the FULL SCREEN (not a popup) blue screen telling me I MUST upgrade.

Note that I was installing from a v1709 ISO created by MCT. By “In the middle of” I mean I had answered all of the questions and clicked [Install] … and so it was cranking away …

C’MON MICROSOFT, CAN’T YOU CHECK TO SEE if someone is UPGRADING before you NAG them to UPGRADE? THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

BTW I am appalled by what MICROSOFT is pulling these days with the forced updates and spying, not to mention the Spectre/Meltdown FIASCO and the REALLY bad forced updates which M$ said was a MISTAKE (SORRY).

Personal suggestion, for the next time, as this is what I’m doing as I’m currently in the middle of upgrading to 1709 (side note: did no one at MS think about how easy it is to rearrange the letters of that build’s abbreviation to be something rude?): besides forced updates via the method of your choice, make sure that you are completely offline. On my PC, I unplugged my wifi adapter. When I run the .iso on my housemate’s, I’ll unplug the Ethernet connection. It’s sad that MS has forced us to these lengths, and pathetic that they can’t program a check like that to see if an upgrade is already running or not.
