My NC10 has XP Home on it, and I now get a BSOD about ten seconds after starting.

The message on it is ‘MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS’ which means nothing to me.

I’ve run a Malwarebytes scan and Emisoft emegency kit scan in safe mode, neither pick upanything, so I’m at a loss as to how to proceed.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Does it boot in safe mode?

It does, that’s how I ran Malwarebytes.

Yes, I am sorry, you had said it before, but I missed it.

Have you tried a system restore, from safe mode, to an earlier date?

If system Restore doesn’t fix your problem, try aClean Boot . If Clean Boot works, re enable things in groups to determine the culprit.

      Thanks, Jerry,

I followed the instructions for a clean boot, which went OK.

I then added back the items I had disabled, doing it in several stages, each of which passed without incident.

I now have everything enabled as when I started, and the system is starting OK.

So I don’t know what was affected, but it seems to be OK now. In fact I’ve just installed all the recent MS patches and restarted without trouble.

      I blame Microsoft!

You’re welcome. Strange. Only thing I can think of is some initiation order dependency. Hope the error doesn’t resurface.
