I have not posted in the Lounge for some time, so apologies if this is not the correct place.
Following the recent Patch Tuesday updates I am left with three dotNET4 updates which won’t install.
They are: KB2804576; KB2835393 and KB2840628.
1. All three failed installs resulted in the Error Code: 0000066A.
2. This led to downloading and running MS Fixit.
3. This produced one Error Code [0x80070005].
4. From a quick Google search, the consensus was: Try to repair the dotNet4 Client Profile.
5. Repair failed.
6. Downloaded each of the updates and tried to install individually.
7. Same result – failure to install.
8. Consulted a friend who suggested creating a Restore Point and re-installing the dotNET4 Client Profile.
9. Downloaded the file “dotNetFx40_Client_x86_64” (Standalone Installer). Created Restore Point.
10. Installed this application.
11. Repeated step 6.
12. Same result – failure to install.
13. System Restored.
14. BTW, the Control Panel list of programs refers only to “Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile”.
15. O/S is Win7 Pro x64.

I am finding this matter to be thoroughly vexing and would greatly appreciate assistance.
