AskWoody LoungerMay 20, 2020 at 9:03 am #2264357But soon after the updates appeared, Win7 users reported installation failures. The upshot? The patches generally worked fine on systems with genuine (paid) and up-to-date Extended Security Updates (ESU) subscriptions.
luckily i still didn’t dare to install these post esu updates using that script… so this problem won’t bite me, i assume?

Updates seem to be installing without issue.are there also reports of this kind referring to security only (group b)? because rollup is still group a, i assume.

Group A installs the Rollup. The Rollup consists of the Security-only update, the IE11 CU, and the non-security patches.
If you install the Rollup you are installing all three components. So if the Rollup works, it follows that two of its components work.
