Network communication between PCs

This topic has been raised to some extent before but I am unable to find a solution.

I have a local network with three PCs plus an NAS. I have been accustomed to complete open transfer of files and folders between all units. Two of the PCs were running W10 and one older machine W7. Recently the W7 machine gave up the ghost and I replaced it with a new Lenovo running W10 of course. I now find that this new machine cannot be accessed from any other machine. I get asked for a login and password but to the best of my knowledge it doesn’t have one!

I have searched in vain for a solution to this trying numerous suggestions with no success. I have searched the Internet and tried a few suggestions from Woody but no good.These have included all the usual topics about sharing and network discovery. I tried resetting Network Credentials as this is the specific topic the system complains of – doesn’t work.

If anyone has any suggestions I would be happy to try them

Option 1 is the one I have done to death already with no success.

Option 2 merely disconnected my WIfi and I had to reboot to get it back.

Option 3 is a bit beyond my technical skills.

Access all machines using IP address (give fixed IP to all), then add all machines to quick access.

Ex. \\192.168.1.171\Disk_sda1

Have tried addressing machine via IP address directly with no success.

No success means? Do you get any response?
How did you try to access the machine?
Is it only the new PC that you can’t access?
