Need help! Kind of long explanation –
I use Acronis True Image to back up a couple of drives on my main computer. I back these up to another computer using a network connection. All was working fine till a few days ago when one of the two backup jobs began complaining it was unable to find the designated drive on my networked backup computer.
On the network computer I have three drives – Backup#1, Backup#2, and brentwoodstorage.
The backup going to backup#1 is and has been working fine. The backup going to backup#2 has stopped.
In checking out my Acronis set up for the backup going to backup#2 when the drive is displayed (backup#2) I see folders that are not physically on the backup#2 drive but are on the brentwoodstorage drive.
I’ve shutdown both machines then restarted them and still have the same problem. When I use windows explorer from my main machine and look at the network machine I see the same thing. When I access backup#2 I see the files and folders from the brentwoodstorage drive.
I brought up my laptop and looked at the network from it and when I access the computer with my backup drives I still see the same thing. The files and folders from brentwoodstorage show up under backup#2. I haven’t said this already but the files and folder show up correctly under brentwoodstorage.
Because the laptop that I use infrequently shows the same result I’m thinking the glitch I have is associated with the networked computer with the backup drives. It seems to be advertising incorrectly.
I appreciate your reading through this and really would appreciate any help.
TIA
