Folks, a client of mine has an interesting problem that has me a tad flumoxed. They have 4 pcs networked both using the old peer to peer coax cabling and UTP via a hub. Bit of a mix but it works ok most times. All machines run W98. One machine has developed an intermittent problem however. When left alone for a while – with and without screensaver and power saving, start up Windows Explorer and click on a mapped drive to one other machine which holds most of the data, and Explorer grinds to a halt. Alt Ctrl Del and close Explorer then open it again and click on any of the other machines in the network and it works fine. This doesn’t always happen, but when it does the machine needs to be rebooted to establish the network link to that specific machine again. Because the other machines are able to be clicked on I am puzzled. Any bright ideas anyone???? shrug
