There’s a new SQL book out: “SQL: Access to SQL Server”, by Susan Sales Harkins and Martin W.P. Reid. You can find it at http://www.apress.com. I just got my copy, and it looks great! It focuses on both Jet SQL and T-SQL (SQL Server) and does it in a style that is very accessible.

The book includes tips on using new features in Access XP with SQL Server, but it’s mainly a great reference on using SQL in the Access/SQL Server environment(s).

Excellent, Charlotte, I’ve been in the market for something like this. Does it cover anything to do with integration into web pages?

There’s a very brief section on exporting to XML (a feature of Access XP) and using AXP with Active Server Pages, but I haven’t dipped into that part yet.

It isn’t any worse than others I’ve seen, and if you’re using Access or SQL Server, I would recommend this one over the others. There are also several books by Joe Celko that include all kinds of SQL tricks.

Quite a few people recommend Joe Celko’s books as the place to start with SQL.
