Not being able to revoke optional permission for any extension is another annoying thing about Chrome which could probably make it a better browser.

Which of course requires a complete OS download and install?

Why not just drop the “utility” in the store and alert subscribers about a new “feature”?

As a matter of fact, why not have all the UWP Apps reside in the Store, let the users decide which ones they want to download, and just deliver an Operating System without all the BLOAT?

Remember or know nLite?

My wish scenario for Windows OS download/install:

– Login to your MS account.

– Select Windows functions, features and settings to your likings a’la nLite.

– Once done, click Download ISO and – Voila! Your very own customized and trimmed Windows OS!

Updates offered through WU will of course reflect your account settings.

New fetaures will be available in store and if you subscribed to news, you’ll get an email for download offers.

…

But of course it’s much more fun to get a fully blown download with each and everything twice a year. What else would you spend your time on besides playing with and nursing your new OS?

Sigh.

Great! This looks really promising! When they next upgrade it to include a paging app I’ll get Win 10 in a heartbeat.

Ex-Windows user (Win. 98, XP, 7); since mid-2017 using also macOS. Presently on Monterey 12.15 & sometimes running also Linux (Mint).

Besides Chrome, MightyText has extensions/”desktop apps”/”web apps” for Firefox (my fave), Safari, Opera, & IE. IE 11?! So why couldn’t MT develop an extension for Edge? Riiight… Edge extensions are in the Microsoft Store & MT probably didn’t want to pay for Store access. Plus, Microsoft wanted to showcase a new Feature in the Win10 OS. More like a new Bug if it doesn’t work…

Bought a refurbished Windows 10 64-bit, currently updated to 22H2. Have broke the AC adapter cord going to the 8.1 machine, but before that, coaxed it into charging. Need to buy new adapter if wish to continue using it.

Yawn, with various browser extensions, etc. I seriously doubt those who want this capability do not already have it. Personally, I do not want it. The suggestion that should be app as with many of the W10 ‘features’ is actually spot on.

Amazing. Maybe one day we could even make a phonecall via Windows. Now I understand we have so many updates and upgrades to add hightech new options that require very necessary  optimized code multiple times per month. Sigh. Couldn’t they have achieved this within such an amazing fantastic app from the mighty popular Windows Store? Windows gets better and better every release. We have to reinstall our os more then once per year to get groovy features like semi-transparant Windows, Telemetry to satisfy The Makers, getting for free (yes, free, yippee) useless un-unstallable apps, free ads, a browser that no one needs and more great stuff. Way to go. By the way, macOS could send sms’es (who still uses that form of communication anyways nowadays btw…) a long time ago. Heck, it could even sync agenda’s over multiple devices and communicate by voice and video. So yeah, this new sms-feature really shows off the innovative character of Windows.
