So I screwed up and loaded a keyboard driver for a Kensington ProFit keyboard that I use on my KVM and now when I start my Dell Vostro 5640, I get a Windows start screen but the keyboard and mouse do not work. I have connected an external keyboard and that does not work.
I can get into the troubleshooting and they both work there, so the issue seems to be with the driver killing the system keyboard on the laptop, no response using the KVM or the keyboard directly plugged into a USB port on the laptop.
Is there some way for me to remove that driver from the command line I can access from the safe mode startup or bypass all the drivers to get into Windows? Or know where that file lives to delete it? Or am I doomed to do a Windows reinstall and then have to reload all my programs? The system cannot find a restore point.
