Norton Security Issue

I got this pop-up from Norton Security Suite regarding an Error 3048, 3. It had quite a few recommendations. I wrote them down but I hesitate to follow them until I get more info. My impression is that there are some issues with this. Anyone had similar issues? Should I run it or should I wait?

I’d do up to Step 3 but if you download/Save NPE to run that, click on the Advanced cog and just run the Standard NPE scan.

The default scan on the face page defaults to the Rootkit scan and that can cause problems with legitimate programs as it is very aggressive.

Another useful Symantec tool is their Remove and Reinstall should Norton Security become buggy, but after its reinstall, it’s best to manually check for updates until it tells you there aren’t any more.
