Hello All,
How many users can work together in 1 Access Database without getting performance problems?

It depends on how the database is designed, how the network performs, what the various users are doing, and whether they’re all doing it at the same time. In 97 on an NT network and with an app designed to be used by multiple data entry operators at the same time, performance starts to deteriorate noticeably after 4 users.
As Charlotte notes, it all depends on what your users are doing and how you configure the database. If you have 4 or 5 people doing data entry all day long and nothing else, that’s about the upper limit. On the other hand if your users are looking at a record occasionally, and making updates once or twice a day, we have some clients running upwards of 100 users on a Jet database. There is an upper limit of 255 simultaneous users, but we start pushing people toward SQL Server or another industrial strength database once they have more than about 10 simultaneous users, regardless of how they use it – we’ve just convinced one of our large clients with 130 users to migrate to SQL. There are other issues that push you that way anyhow, as backups and recovery issues, and crash resistance are important issues if you are dealing with a mission critical system. Hope this adds some insight.
