October 16 Patch (W97)

I was reading some recent issues of WOW and thought Woody was ironizing when saying you had to call MS to get the October 16 patch… I’m not used to Knowledge-Base surfing, but if this is the article (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?…-us;330080&%5B/url%5D) then you REALLY gotta contact them in order to get the patch.
Now the question: if as common sense suggests it’s an .exe file, isn’t there an easier way to grab it?

As you say, the ftp site is no longer available. The second thread’s ending is not very encouraging, as poor lil’ Eileen is left in the cold clinging to her will to succeed and keeping faith in God’s benevolence as her only option…

But that ain’t happenin’ to ME…. right?

Seriously, this is terribly annoying… Got to know your data can be disclosed to strangers by opening a Word document? Good thing, ’cause MS wouldn’t have told ya. Now, don’t feel ripped off, MS has maide available a patch for everyone to download… all you have to do is guess the web address. C’mon! Who taught these guys customer satisfaction? Aren’t computers supposed to make things easier? Why use the phone!!!!????
