    hello.
I am using ODBC to connect to mySQL database with fair success. I want to put the front end on some user machines. I am pretty sure there is no way around putting the mysql ODBC driver on each machine. BUT I think the point of File DNS is to somehow include a text file to which the msaccess front end refers for the odbc connect info instead of having to set up a connection for each user machine. Can anyway walk me through how this is done??
    thank you.

    very truly yours.

        Thanks Francios.

Where in this code would I indicated the this is mysql and not SQL. or where does it reference the ODBC driver?

I have no experience with mysql so I don’t know exactly.
I would have a look at an existing linked table in the MSysObject table, in the column Connect you have the connection string.
Look if you can find some similitude with the code from the Access Web.
To see the MsysObject table you have to check the System Object in the options’ View tab.
