    Hi gang,
    Here is an easy one. The new Windows XP keeps giving me messages for everything that happens on my computer i.e.: new updates are ready to download, liveupdate has updated your files, etc. Nice, but I would like to get rid of them, they are distracting. Please tell me how.

      Right_click My Computer > Properties (or Start > Control Panel > System) >
      Select the Automatic Updates tab >
      De-select “Keep my computer up to date”.
