AskWoody LoungerSeptember 20, 2021 at 6:28 am #2390751We rarely see infected computers running Malwarebytes. We often see infected computers running Norton, McAfee, and other expensive, bloated antivirus programs. No brand loyalty here, we just know what we see on a daily basis.
I never understood, why McAfee is considered as antivirus/antimalware program. All computers I ve seen with it, were incredibly slow and infested with junk (I apologize for my expression).
All users reported something similar – they installed McAfee because of popup ad, that stated “your PC is on danger, your PC is infected, ..”
I would give it 0 stars of 5 possible.I am glad, that someone confirmed my experience. Those aggressive ads should be disciplined at court. Giant fine shoould be given, so noone else will never ever do that again.

GuestSeptember 20, 2021 at 6:55 pm #2390927This sounds like darned good advice. ย I’ve had excellent results on my MacBook Pro using Malwarebytes free and ClamXAV paid. ย Malwarebytes also worked well on my antique Dell lap top.
One word of caution regarding Malwarebytes. ย I bought the lifetime version of Malwarebytes when it first came out. ย When I acquired my new MacBook Pro, Malwarebytes refused to let me use my lifetime version. ย Rrr#!!$!!

GuestOctober 11, 2021 at 5:48 pm #2395245Hi Mr. Husted
Thank you for the post on keeping it clean by older geeks.
I’m wondering how Randy and Deanna started their business from the garage and then how they grew the business to move into a store front – looking for ideas as I have more than 20 years with various roles in IT – i.e. Network Technician, Systems Engineer, Tech Coordinator and for the last 6 years as an IT director – looking to leave my full time nightmare while for the past 4 months I have been spending nights and weekends looking for a new job, but at age 62 not having any luck landing an offer – I have an extremely hard work ethic and have completed many projects over the past 6 years & was rewarded with a 1 year contract while non performers on my team got 3 years – very unappreciated and therefore why I’m trying to figure out what to do at this stage.
Any suggestions would be welcomed on how they built their home computer business and became such a success
Thanks JohnG.

You’ve presumably read their very brief summary of how they started.
