This on win10/pro: this morning when I got to my computer I discovered that a bunch of shortcuts had been added to the pinned openshell links and in my notification area I had a strange warning “OLRStateCheck had been blocked from making changes”.   I looked around and found:

    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\DB6EA5DB.MediaSuiteEssentialsforDell_2.6.4028.0_x86__mcezb6ze687jp\Media Suite\OLRSubmission\OLRStateCheck.exe
    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\DB6EA5DB.Power2GoforDell_11.0.3920.0_x86__mcezb6ze687jp\Power2Go11\OLRSubmission\OLRStateCheck.exe
    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\DB6EA5DB.PowerDirectorforDell_15.0.4409.0_x64__mcezb6ze687jp\PowerDirector15\OLRSubmission\OLRStateCheck.exe
    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\DB6EA5DB.PowerMediaPlayerforDell_14.2.4925.0_x86__mcezb6ze687jp\PowerDVD14\OLRSubmission\OLRStateCheck.exe
    C:\Windows\Prefetch\OLRSTATECHECK.EXE-9D7FC5AC.pf

the directories don’t seem to be recent:

    03/26/2020 10:49 PM <DIR> DB6EA5DB.MediaSuiteEssentialsforDell_2.6.4028.0_x86__mcezb6ze687jp
    08/12/2020 09:00 AM <DIR> DB6EA5DB.Power2GoforDell_11.0.3920.0_x86__mcezb6ze687jp
    05/10/2019 02:19 PM <DIR> DB6EA5DB.PowerDirectorforDell_15.0.4409.0_x64__mcezb6ze687jp
    09/11/2022 06:08 AM <DIR> DB6EA5DB.PowerMediaPlayerforDell_14.2.4925.0_x86__mcezb6ze687jp

Should I be worried?  Alas, in my stupidity I removed the powershell links so I don’t  so I don’t remember what they were  DUH

That seems to be software from Cyberlink. If you have a Dell then it may be preloaded. If you don’t have a Dell, how did you get the software?

Either way, it probably isn’t required unless you want their media player.

      cheers, Paul

I do, indeed have a dell!   I don’t want their media player but it seems that I can’t uninstall any of that stuff: it doesn’t show up in my applications list..   Looks like Dell *really* wants you to have it on the system.    I see , though: when I scroll through the ‘default apps” list I see:

aob/ape/bsf /dat/dts/dvr-ms/ifo/jgps/jps/jsv/jvt/m2p/mpo/mpv/mvc/tp/tpd/trp/vro/wtv-> power media player for dell

cdadh/dltdz3dt/dza/dzbl/dzep/dzl/dzm/dzp/dzs/dzt/dztr/pdl/pdlcp/pdm/pds -> power director for dell

What *are* all those weird file types?

That CyberLink software is in the loadset for a new Dell computer (as an extra).
Power2Go and Power Director are the CD/DVD software for creating/reading CDs/DVDs and making ISOs, etc. For me, the software has been my preference over the built-in Microsoft equivalents.
The suite also includes a Media Player.
