    Hey Y’all,

Yesterday I was helping someone who wanted to stop being bugged by OneDrive.

I explained how we could uninstall one drive but how he could maintain access to his files via the web interface. He agreed that this would work for him. So I went about uninstalling OneDrive. Or at least I thought that was what I was going to do. OneDrive did NOT show up in Settings->Apps->Installed Apps! OneDrive was clearly in control of his Documents folder as any newly created file would up in the Cloud and NOT on his computer.

Note: This was on Win 11 23H2 Home

I did a little googling and found a PowerShell command to do the job and it reported success and testing confirmed that he was once again in charge of his documents.

My question is WHY did OneDrive not show in settings?

FYI: The PS command is: winget uninstall onedrive

May the Forces of good computing be with you!

@RetiredGeek, my OneDrive shortcut is not in “Apps”, either.  It’s here:

      OneDrive

      And the shortcut properties read:

      “C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive\OneDrive.exe”

It’s not in the WindowsApps folder on my PC.

Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!

          Not in mine:

          OneDrive-1

Then again, I’ve been using OneDrive for years; perhaps that explains the difference.

I’ve been using Onedrive for many years as well, but mine does show in installed App & Features.  Head scratcher.

My OneDrive was found in Control Panel\Programs & Features.
That is, before I uninstalled it from there.
I don’t use OneDrive or have a Microsoft ID.

Here is everywhere OneDrive appears in my PC:

      OneDrive-2

It is also in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features.

I neglected to mention that the path to the OneDrive folder is T:\OneDrive.

Well, contrary to my OP he was not yet in control of his documents. I had to do some registry editing to keep programs from saving to the OneDrive folder on his PC but they were not being synced.

Thanks for the answers but my question was WHY wasn’t it showing in Install Apps so it could be uninstalled like you would with any installed app?
