• One user at a time (ACCESS 97)

    I have a access database on a shared drive for our office. i would like to allow only 1 person at atime access to the database. i do not want multiple people on it at the same time. how can i limit the amount of people using it at once? acn you?

      You can ser the database to open “Exclusive”. This will lock everyone out until the database has been closed by the user. You should be able to find info on this in Access Help by searching for “exclusive”.

        Well something isnt too right here, I set a db for exclusive under the options tab and placed it on the shared drive. Needless to say, multiple users still had access to it while i was on it. Is there something else needed. I also entered the command line proprerty for it there and locked the records. None of this did anyhing though.
