I have a requirement to open a form via the Switchboard but it must be acFormReadOnly. I have written the code as a new function (as that was what the dialog expected) for the Switchboard.

My question is how to use the Switchboard manager that I want that code executed.

I have tried putting the function name in the Function Name box but to no avail. What point am I missing?

Forgive me – having not used the Switchboard previously, I did not realise that although I could not work out how to tell it to run a Function, I could simply create a macro and call that.

Yes, it was simple, really, but it does help to spend a bit of time exploring features before reaching for the keyboard! Thanks.

You can also use a VBA routine to open a form and other things, such as hiding the Switchboard form. You simply specify the name of the procedure – functions don’t work well in that regard as they expect to return a value.
