Is it possible to open another database with a button on a form. Let’s say the db I want to open is called c:mydbdb1.mdb. Is this possible? Thanks…

How do you want to open it?
      1. Should it become the current database, i.e. replace the database containing the form with the button? Please be aware that the original database will be closed, and that execution of code in that database ends when the other database is opened.
      2. Should it be opened in a new instance of Microsoft Access, i.e. in another Access window? Depending on the computer this can be a heavy load on resources.
      3. Should it be opened for manipulation in code only?

Option 2 even though it is a resource hog is the option they would like. Is it possible Hans? Thanks… Thanks for the reply on the other post. It was a simple solution.

What is the intent of opening a second database? Are they wanting to toggle back and forth between them, or what? If the latter, why not just open both of them the regular way?

See post 289885 by MarkD. For Access 2000, replace ‘Office10’ by ‘Office’ in the path.
