OpenLoco Doesn’t Work – Missing Data.g1.dat file

This is a file that is not included in the zip file for the game. Going to the developer’s site on GitHub doesn’t have it either or any info about it. But FYI there is a newer version that the one on oldergeeks.com! As best as I can tell this is a Steam file which I don’t have installed, is this correct?

Do you have the original game?

Please note that OpenLoco requires the asset files of the original Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion to play the game. It can be bought at e.g. Steam or GOG.com.
