    Greetings,

I’ve installed the Microsoft SDK for Open XML and according to the help file all I need to do to access it in VBA is select it from the references dialog box in the VBE.
It doesn’t show on the list and when I use browse to select it I get an error message saying that I can’t use it.

Does anyone know why i can’t reference Microsoft.Office.DocumentFormat.OpenXml from VBA?

A brief read on the web suggests that it is a .Net component and not a COM object or old-school DLL. If that is true, then it probably cannot be used in VBA without a “shim” to make it appear to be a COM object. Anyway, I’m not sure it makes sense to use it inside Office, rather than as a tool to create Office-compatible files from other applications.
