On Friday 10/21 Opera went into full-screen and would not go back to normal screen. Had to shut Opera down using task-manager. When restarted it came up full-screen again and had to be shut down with task-manager again. Uninstalled Opera via control panel. Uninstall was clean no unusual messages. Down loaded a new copy of OperaSetup from Opera web site. As soon as started received ” The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005), Click OK to close the application” Down loaded again and same result. Ran SFC and CHKDSK, but still failing setup. I suspect there may be a problem with the registry. Tried Ccleaner register cleaner but the problem did not clear. I have always avoided editing the register as I don’t want to brick my computer. I hate to lose all my software by resetting Windows, but maybe someone on the forum can steer me to anything else I can do.

    Thank you, Rich B.,

Do you have a 3rd party anti virus that is causing the issue?

Are there any messages in Event Viewer about the installer?

      cheers, Paul

        Paul,
Thank you for your response. I’m using MalwareBytes and it isn’t kicking out any error messages. I’m not familiar with Event Viewer but will see if I can find anything in it.
