My Outlook 2000 mail formats is stuck on Outlook Rich Text Format. The Tools, Options, Mail Formats, selections don’t work as the selection box is “grayed” out. How do I return full functionality?

It is possible to block users from changing these settings using Office Profiles (we use them at my office). Is it possible that the settings have been locked?

Was upgrading from Outlook 98 to 2000. Think perhaps a registry error??

          In Win98 registry, under:

          HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice9.0OutlookOptionsMail

          EditorPreference: Plain Text = 65536 decimal / 10000 hex

But if this doesn’t change anything, then a Policy setting may be overriding it.

Usual warnings about regedit apply. Also, probably you want to close OL before making this change, as it may not re-read the registry after start-up.
