• Outlook 2003 / Contacts sort order

    Hi there!

I’m sure this question came up already, but I couldn’t find it so I’m asking again. 🙂
In Outlook 2003 you’re able to change the sort order of your contacts (forename, last name or last name, forename). So far so good. The tricky part is to change the sort order when using your contacts as an E-Mail address book.
To clarify, you open up a new mail and click the recipient button. If you switch to your contacts, they are always sorted according to forename. Is there any way to tell outlook to keep the predefined sort order (e.g. in my case: last name, forename)?

    Thx for the help!
    Cheers

See if this helps: Tools | Email accounts | Directory – View or change | select the appropriate Contact Address Book, click Change | in the “Show names by” dialog click the appropriate radio button | Finish.

        Hi John!

That did the trick. I probably used this feature some time ago, but I couldn’t remember it anymore. I’m afraid I’m getting old. 🙂
        Anyway, thank you very much.

        Cheers
