Outlook 365 gets stuck on processing when opening

All was well until HD failed so had to restore a Macrium image taken 1 week before. Since then, when trying to open Outlook, the dialogue box Loading Profile runs then it all stops on “Processing”.

Have been through all the Microsoft wab based support suggestions. So far no good.

Did that include starting Outlook’s safe mode (Outlook.exe /safe)?

If Outlook stops responding at a screen that says “Processing,” you can close Outlook, start it in safe mode, then close it and open it normally to fix the problem.

Creating a new Outlook profile looks like the next step, but you could “Try guided support” for Microsoft 365 first:

I can’t start Microsoft Outlook or receive the error “Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook Window”
