Outlook Express Automatically starts (6.0)

Every time I switch the computer on, Outlook Express starts up automatically. I’ve checked that it’s not in the startup folder and can’t find any obvious reason for this behaviour. The machine is a Sony Vaio laptop running XP professional SP2. Any help please as this is a feature I could do without.

It sounds like some type of malware has infected you system. The utility Bob pointed you to is very good at identifying these things. If you have any questions about which entries are questionable, post back with a screenshot of the page and we’ll try to help you choose and remove the problem entries.

Thanks guys. After much searching it turns out that the problem was caused by SP2 update. The bios on the Sony Vaio was incompatable and needed to be updated with several other software fixes. The problem is highlighted on Sony Vaio’s support pages.
