Outlook 2000 will not receive internet email.
Corporate install, accesses internet thru Internet Connection Sharing on another Win98se machine. Outlook will send email, but will not receive email. Have reformatted and reinstalled multiple times (this is a new machine!) once with Norton AntiVirus 2000 installed before Outlook, and again without NAV before Outlook install (NAV then crashed the machine upon install after Outlook). On a whim, I changed the service/account to a different person

are you using NAV’s email protection? if so, disable it.

try exporting from express to outlook, then double clicking on the net folder files. they might process correctly and work.

you are using two different email addresses (one on each machine) for sharing netfolders?

NAV is currently not installed on this machine.
Yes, one email name on one machine, another email name on the other machine. This is the ‘normal’ state of affairs.
On one occasion I changed the account/service email name to a different name on the same ISP (but different from the email name on the ‘other’ machine sharing) as an experiment to see if Outlook was just having a problem with that particular name (it was, that’s why I changed it to a new name, but…. after 24 hrs it did not like the new name either).

I will try the export from Express to Outlook, but I’m not too excited about it because the user is not too interested in lots-o-clicks, but is real gung ho for having the computer do everything automatically. I am not too happy with the prospect of having to install some sort of Windows macro program that will run periodically to export from Express and import into Outlook if the scheme works.

I am not sitting in front of the machine right now.

the export suggestion was only for temp use – until the problem is figured out.

we can rule out funny business with NAV. Outlook is IMO mode on each (rules out mapi hangs) and it’s to two different email acct. so it’s not something screwy with netfolders using the same email address.

i’ll have to think on that one – unless someone else thinks of something first.
