I never had a problem with synchronising my office and my home desktop with my HP Jornada Pocket PC. Then my PC has had to be rebuilt and all is not well. There has neven been a problem with my home PC.

My work machine however synchronises fairly cleanly once after re-boot from cold, but seems to time out and will then not synchronise until I re-boot it and reset the PDA.. I am used to being able to leave the PDA in its USB cradle in continuous sync mode and this just destroys all that.

The only clue I have is that I downloaded a fresh copy of activesync which is a slightly later version. I have not changed anything on the PDA because it all works, and I dont undertand why microsoft troubleshooting makes constant reference to AVANT GO, which as far as I know, I never use.

    All help welcome

I’m a Palm user, but I can say that Avant Go is the network service provider behind a lot of portable information products. In the past these have included Zagat and iDine, and I’m sure there are many others.

I found this at a Microsoft site.

      Notes
If you use AvantGo and have installed an upgrade (such as the AvantGo Security Upgrade for Pocket PC devices), installing ActiveSync 3.7.1 will prevent AvantGo from syncing properly. To fix this problem, please reinstall the latest version of AvantGo.

What addins do you have installed?

        Thanks to you both,

I dont think I have any add-ins installed. I never use the PDA in pass-through mode, I synchronise calendar, tasks, contacts, notes with both and favourites with only my home machine. Thats it.

I also use it to hold and move files around but by direct drag and drop – no synchronisation at all.
