I can make all Outlook views readable by selecting a “current view” font size, except one – Outlook Today. The folder list is fine, but the appointments, tasks and email summaries in the right pane are extremely small. Customize offers no font choices. So are incoming emails. Is there some way to change this?

I use a 17″ flat panel (LCD) display, set at 1280×1024 and “normal” under Properties/Settings, and “large fonts” under Properties/Appearance. I generally use Tahoma size 12 throughout my desktop. I also use Clearfont technology given the LCD.

This “step by step” might help

I’ve tried that and it works fine for all views except Outlook Today. Outlook Today does not include a “View/Current View/…” menu item, so there is no standard way to change the font. I’m thinking there must be another way, though, perhaps within the Registry.

        Thanks

A possible answer, and since this is a Microsoft product we are talking about, lies in a different application. (Aren’t you glad that they don’t make appliances. “I have a problem with my dishwasher” – “You have to check the settings on your VCR to fix the dishwasher.”) Go to Internet Explorer, and under Tool|Internet Options|General|Accessibility. Check the box marked “Ignore Font Sizes specified on Web Pages”. That should give you a larger font.

          Hope that helps.

          Regards

Clever of M$ to hide this fix in IE, and even more clever of you to find it. It worked!.

            Thanks

That setting is global, though, and will affect all web pages.

I found better info on Outlook Today (see attached, combining the two downloads from Microsoft Office Resource Kit Toolbox (2000): Outlook Today information and sample files), but it’s quite dense and I don’t really understand the steps required. Hopefully it will make more sense to you!

I just noticed you are using Outlook 2002. You might not want to see if there is an updated version of the attached for Office XP, rather than using the attached Outlook 2000 version.

Thanks for the additional information. I’ll give it a look. So far, any effects of the global changes within IE6 have not been negative.
