Page Break on every Cell (Excel 2003 SP3)

I’ve been searching for any information on this problem but I can’t find any solution, just lots of people with the same problem. I couldn’t find any post here about it so I’m hoping it’s an old problem with a simple solution… I hope, I hope.
Several users are reporting that a page break (the heavy blue line) is appearing around every cell of sheet in a multi-sheet workbook that we are using. But if they save the file and send it to us, it looks fine when we open it. In fact, if they shut down Excel and reopen the saved file, the page breaks are fine also. One person said they just had to close the workbook and reopen it and it was fine; they didn’t even need to close Excel.
This is an intermittent problem and we haven’t been able to recreate it. In fact, none of us here has seen it, only some of our users.
Any ideas?

I’ve never seen this problem. Selecting File | Print… and switching to a different printer, then back might also correct it.

Rats… I never saw it before either. I’m trying to recreate the problem but so far, no luck. Thanks for the suggestion. I did a Google search earlier and there are lots of people describing this exact thing so I’m sure we aren’t the first to experience it.

I used to encounter this problem quite a bit with older versions of Excel. I never found out what caused it, but the remedy for me that worked every time was to uninstall (or delete) the printer and then add it back. That solved it for a few weeks and then when it cropped up again, I’d just repeat.

And I didn’t have to uninstall the drivers or anything…just delete the printer from the printer control panel.

I had a similar problem with Excel 2000. And just as in your case, certain work computers had the problem and others did not. At first they thought it may have been a Virus.

The real cause was an outdated Video Driver. Once the most recent driver was installled the problem was solved.

Wow! Great ideas. Thanks to both of you. Various work arounds seem to work for a little while and then the problem pops back up so I’m going to try the video driver suggestion and watch it for a while. Thanks Tom.
