I was wondering what happened with that. I couldn’t bring myself to ignore the warning and load the site anyway though just in case. Glad it’s been fixed.

Yep, the cert is supposed to renew automatically with my monthly site provider payments.

Somebody goofed. At least they fixed it quickly.

You look good until July 14, 2018 . . .

I mark all my cert expirations in my calendar about a week before they are due.  Even if your provider is supposed to renew (and update) them for you, it might pay to be ready to pester them a couple days in advance to prevent downtime.  There should always be a bit of overlap between when you revoke and renew, never good to wait for the last minute.

My experience with pestering folks is that it can make things worse. It usually doesn’t help anyone to actually “remember” to act. The reason for failure is always more complex than that, and to be honest people just don’t like to be reminded of things they think are well taken care of. It’s the “don’t tell me how to do my job” syndrome coupled with a bit of “my job is already too complex; don’t bother me” thrown in.

But yeah, it’s why in general I personally hate to cede control of things to others. Others are never reliable when it comes to things important to you.

I had started getting certificate alerts while here for a week or so with this nagging pop up!  It got to the point that the pop up wouldn’t go away long enough for me to post  and tell you.  So I gave up for a few days.

Yesterday I tried to get in here and got that ominous security alert and IE wouldn’t even let me in.
I checked you on facebook and saw another person posted that they were having the same issue except they were using Firefox.  I pm’d you via facebook to give you a heads up.   I checked this morning on my message to you,  and noted you hadn’t read it yet.
I deceided to give another shot here, and was happy to see the issue was with you and not my computer.
I’m relieved about that!
