Is it possible to make part of a document secure while allowing someone to type in another part?

I have a friend who needs to send a document to several applicants, where the applicants will be entering their responses directly into the document. However, she wants to be sure the applicants can’t access any areas of the document other than where they enter their responses.

Using the Forms toolbar would be ideal for this, except that I don’t of a way to prevent the applicants from unlocking the document and being able to access everything.

Is there some way to accomplish this?

If you protect the document for forms using Tools | Protect Document…, Forms option, you can:
      – specify which sections of the document will be protected, and
      – specify a password needed to unprotect the document.
Some of Microsoft’s password protection schemes have been notoriously weak. I don’t know how hard it would be to crack the Forms protection password.
