Whenever I paste or insert copy from another file into the current Word document it is either formatted shadowed or all of the text formatting check boxes are checked. Is there a setting I have overlooked or is this indicative of a corrupted program file? Formerly it would appear either as previously formatted or adopt the formatting of the paragraph inserted or pasted into.

I suspect it is not a corruption but rather a setting that is tripping you up. Is revision tracking turned on? What happens if you “Paste Special” as text only? Is it a style name issue?
