Miss.Susan, just to clarify any future misunderstading,ย  The tool will help you know why your computer failed to upgrade right?ย  ย it won’t help with bugs in the 1803 update right?

It will diagnose why your machine didn’t install the feature update and rolled back.ย  As always bugs will be found after the feature release has been released and then Microsoft will push out fixes in the cumulative updates that come out afterwards.

Why are Windows setup logs stored in a Panther directory? Does it have anything to do with the abandoned Panther project from the precursor to Windows 95?

At the time it was written Raymond Chen’s blog said, “From looking at the source code history, it appears that Panther was the code name for what is now known as Windows Deployment Services. “

wdscore.dll is indeed described as “Panther Engine Module”

Could it have told you why you had to connect an external hard drive instead of a flash memory drive to complete the 1709 installation for your newest computer?
