Ok…….NO LAUGHING!! I thought this was just happening while in IE browser, but it happens when I am in any application. I will be in the middle of something, and the system will pause, and make a tone, not unlike the tone that the system makes when a USB device connects or disconnects. I have checked all of the USB & firewire devices, and none of them seem to be causing the problem. The system just pause briefly, and makes the tone. It is especially annoying when I am on the browser. Any ideas??

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

Windows Messenger opens up whenever I open Outlook even though I tried to follow the instructions in the Lounge to get rid of it. The only firewall I have is that my internet runs through a Linksys router.

First, I’d recommend installing a firewall on your PC. Multiple layers of defense are much better. Routers are not infallible or totally secure. Second, do you have a USB hub? If so, can you switch the devices to other ports? Can you turn off the devices one by one to see if it is an intermittent power problem? Have you check the USB cables at both ends (PC/hub & device)?Joe
