    Hello everybody!
I know you sick of hearinf this but I have to say it:-)
    I have Report with 10 Subreports…
when I am printing it to PDF file for each Applicant in the table – some are printing just fine, ‘however some hanging on spooling forever.
Largest Report is 22 pages. Data straight from 1 local table.
22 pages prints well. 13 pages gets hang on page 5, another one on page 4…
5 Reports out of 19 are hanging on spooling and need to be killed and rerun.
One took me hours to output into PDF. I had to do it for the meeting. But now I am trying to resolve the issue.

Reinstalled Adobe, Repaired Access. No changes. Logged into as someone else. Deleted Temp files.

    Anyone maybe heard anything? Thanks

Do the reports preview OK for those applicants for which Adobe hangs? Can you go to the last page without problems?

      • #1122386

No, on those ‘problem’ ones I can’t pass the page that spooling is hanging on.
Others – I can scroll trough easy. Thanks

So the problem is not in Adobe Acrobat but in the reports themselves. This can happen when the settings for the “Keep together” and/or “Force new page” properties of a section cause a conflict that forces Access to keep on moving information to a new page endlessly. Play around with the settings of these properties to see if the problem goes away.

            OMG! You ARFE genious!
I was about to ask but I didn’t – what Keep Together actually does?

            • #1122392

See the Access help or KeepTogether Property.

              All right,
I have noticed when all 10 Reports are having data – I can zoom trough.
When some are blank – I can not pass those. However after ennourmous amount of time they will print…but it is unacceptable time frame.
              Thanks

I cannot help you with that without seeing the database, sorry.

              Hans,
when I had stripped down mdb to send it to you – it actually stopped having a problem.
But with full data load it is still having it.
Please, advice – I had entered page break between each Report and it is now slow and wouldn’t open.
              Report is 10 pages.
Do page breaks coausing any problems?

            • #1122495

Page breaks in combination with Keep Together could cause a problem.

I have Keep Together set to Yes on each Sub on every section.
My data in subs is in Page Header and all subs in group header.
Shouls I set Keep Together to No?
I am trying to set each section in 1 sub to Keep Together – No but it doean’t seem like it is working.

              Thanks

I’d start by setting Keep Together to No for all sections in all subreports and in the main report.
If that works, you can try setting it to Yes for one section to see if that causes the problem again.

I know you are going to be annoyed by this (probably) but I am feeling I owe you this much for all you put up with my problem so far.
I had set to NO all Keep Togethers and it did not fixed a thing.
I was so frustrated almost cried…
Than I saw one of Reports have Headers in a Page Header section not all the way to the top but bit from the edge.
I have 1 label and 2 text boxes as a Header.
So I ran that Report with the same data and I saw no problems so I went to my old copy and lowered 1 label and 2 text boxes and all was fixed!
Is it insane or what? I had tested it and tested it and it worked every time and now I am affraid to go and test some more.
Thanks and if you have comments – please, feel free.

The essential point here is that if you have to solve a difficult problem, you have to experiment and watch closely for small details. You noticed the small difference between the headers, and this enabled you to find a solution.
