A charity that I volunteer for has a notebook that it plans to give another charity. However, the notebook has files with member information. I believe that if we simply delete the files, then empty the recycle bin, the files are still on the computer and could be recovered. My question is, is there software or a way to delete the files so that they are not recoverable, without wiping the hard drive and rebuilding it. We want to be careful to protect our members personal information.
