    Hi All:

The last few months (or maybe years) my Win 10 has started accumulating .png files which seem to be single frames from the various videos that pass through my machine.

I’m not knowledgeable enough to pin down whether it’s just one particular type of video or what. I do know that it’s not every video, but what the difference is, I can’t say.

These files all all deposited in my Photos partition.  I just deleted 359 today.

I hate mysteries!  Any ideas why this is happening and/or what I can do about it?

    TIA

If you once used VLC player to extract single frames from a video, that function may have been left enabled:

Once you are done saving frames the option needs to be turned off again or it will do the same with every video you play. Follow steps 1 and 3 above then untick the Scene video filter box.

I bet that was it!  It was ticked.  I should know in a few days.  Thanks so much!
