Pogoplug Series 4 and Automatic backup and streaming

Has anyone had any experience with the Pogoplus Series 4? I have one and the results are mixed. I had plenty of troubel originally getting photos to come to my telephone using the Android app. I got that resolved finally (you must let it index..it’s not optional as it appears to be…and let it create thumbnails) but the software on the PC to do the automatic backup is still problematic, and the DNLA streaming is a problem. Since the PPS4 is a hardware device I put my topic here…feel free to move if necessary. The softare seems pretty simple, I tell it what folder I want watched and it’s supposed to do a starter backup, then watch for changes and back those up. So I start it late in the evening, and the next morning it has crashed and Wondows is asking me if I want to report it. I have yet to get it working so I have so far just drag/dropped folders over to the PPS4 attached hard drive. Works OK (not great) that way so far. Does anyone have any ideas about t hat? My PC as plugged in to power doesn’t sleep or anything like that. Support has been prettyuseless so far. The streaming is also a problem for them. First off, they say they only offer it for PS3 and XBox 360, but on my DNLA enabled Blu-Ray player it shows up a source. They apparently don’t even know how they are accomplishing streaming…don’t know what DNLA is? In any case, I can find the folders on that hard drive via the Blu-Ray player, but when I navigate to the folder that holds the music (or video) the BR player reports t hat there are no playable files. Has anyone gotten a Pogoplug to do these functions successfully? If so, how in the world did you do it? Thanks.

Wow, posting doesn’t honor carriage returns and other things to make this readable? Sorry. This isn;t how I typed this in.

What browser are you using. In IE 10 I have to use Compatibility Mode to get Enter to insert a carriage return. You might have something similar going on.

Don’t know what the problem could be then. I do not remember if IE 8 has a Compatibility Mode or not. There might be a problem in the keyboard drivers or S/W.

Check your options in IE often as Ted said there is an option to allow the enter key to put in a carriage return instead of send.
