I picked up a Gateway SX2110G SFF desktop that has been upgraded to Win10 from 8.1 and it runs well but trying to run Pogo games is pretty slow. Not having any luck yet using EDGE to run flash games but I’ll get to that later if it makes sense to continue to use this computer to play my Pogo games: I can at least run the Java games using IE11 even though it’s on the slow side. I suspect the 1.47 gigahertz AMD E1-1500 APU processor can be a factor on the slow performance. The computer has an AMD Radeon HD 7310 Graphics [Display adapter] with a 1600 x 900 resolution & 6GB RAM. The power supply is 220W.
Would the following be good ideas to see if they help?
My monitor has a DVI-D Dual Link connector but the SFF box only has a VGA connector.
I have a DVI-D Single Link cable.
I went to Staples to find a DVI-D Single Link to VGA adapter but what they had was a DVI-D Dual Link to VGA adapter.
— Is it ok to use my DVI-D Single Link cable with that VGA adapter even though I’d be connecting to a Dual Link connector?
Then is considering an on-board graphics card a good idea?
If the above ideas are not productive ideas, I’ll forget about using the computer for myself. It runs good and I can donate it.
