How can I populate a bunch of text boxes in a word 2000 file with a single bmp image OR How can I populate an avery label with a specific image? The link to the image is stored in the database. . Futhermore, when the template is populated, how can I have it automatically save the file a specific name? I would like the name to be selected from a value in the database.

    Thanks

There are several ways to do what you ask about. One is to not do the labels in Word at all, but do them as an Access report with the .BMP file in an image control. There is a wizard for creating labels as a part of Access. That probably is the least complex way of doing what you describe.

Another way is to use a Word Mail Merge and store a link to the .BMP file in the Word document (assuming it doesn change) – but merges can be fairly tempramental when driven from an Access database. The third way would be to use Automation and actually build the Word document on the fly from a template. BTW, images in Word are not generally stored in text boxes – they are usually stored in frames or in graphic objects.

        Thanks for the suggestions

I am currently doing it the third way, by building the word file on the file since I found the specific Avery template to use. Since the file will get send by email to a customer, the other 2 ways will not work. I am assuming the best way is to open a template doc, which is a blank word file with that specific Avery label. If that is the best way, how can I have the frames in the avery label (in this case, 2651) equal to the specific bmp or the bmp and the path to the bmp?

        Thanks

OK, I got the ability to now add content to the word file by using bookmarks. I can even put text inside those bookmarks which is awesome. I cannot seem to get a picture into the bookmark though. How can you paste a picture inside a bookmark instead of text?

          Thanks

OK, getting closer, but I would really like some help if possable since I really don’t know the Word object model. I can now get an image pasted into the word file. I have an unbound frame object in my Access form that has my image, which at one point gets the focus on it and a command copies it. Since the image is at 300dpi (it has to be that high to print correctly, not 72dpi ), the image becomes to big in the word file (Access actaully displays it correctly, word does not) What I want though is how word displays the file. Therefore, I would like to know how I can resize the image getting pasted.

Secondly, for some reason, when I change the SourceDoc on the unbound object frame, the picture in the frame does not change. Any ideas?

The way that I am doing it does seem kinda sloppy, so if anyone has a better solution, I am all ears.

            Thanks
