OK. I have clip art alignment issues. No matter what I do, the clip art/graphic moves itself where it wants to. On Print Preview, the document (custom size 6″ X 9″) looks fine, the clip art is showing where I want it to be. Upon printing, though, it moves. Putting the clip art within a text box doesn’t work- the graphic still moves. Adjusting the size of the paper within the Printer properties box doesn’t work. Word Help is no help, and my Word 2007 book doesn’t clarify the issue either. Is there a way to set an image so that it stays put where I want it? Can you point me to some instructions, please? Thanks, and sorry to bother again.

PS- the image I’m using is clip art vs. graphic shape vs. picture/photo.

Cel, it may be that your clip art is floating with regard to text. Here is an approach that works for me. After inserting the clip art at the desired location, click in it to select it. The clip art now should be surrounded by a box with little squares at the corners and box outline midpoints. In your top menu, click Format => Picture . Click the Layout tab, then click Wrapping style = In line with text . Your clip art now should stay where you put it in relation to the text (or empty paragraphs) on the page. You should be able to move it to wherever you like.

If that wrapping style was already selected (blue box around it), you need more help than I can provide.

Thanks for the idea, Sundog. Unfortunately, although I made the change the clip still floated up to the corner. I have a feeling that it might have something to do with some settings that place the graphic relative to the page edge or the margin, but have yet to figure that out. It doesn’t help that the envelope is 6″ X 9″, not standard paper. Thanks for the help./ cel

This issue with floating images/pictures/graphics has be around for a long while.
The easiest way I adapt to it is to always format the picture with picture absolute position, both horizontal and vertical, with respect to ‘page’.
I do not work with large documents so I am not concerned about having a picture follow a paragraph when text is inserted above it. I simply reposition the picture.
I do not use Word 2007 so you will have to locate the proper box to check. starting with Format/picture.
      Try it.
      Good luck.
