When converting PowerPoint 2007 presentation to MovieMaker, realized aspect ration is off. If I adjust slide presentation to 16:9, black bars appear on top and bottom (in 4:3 they’re on the sides).

Do you know a way I can get rid of the black bars? None of my diligent Google searching for answers has produced results.

The final video will be an online course with audio so it needs to look professional…and those black bars sure don’t make that impression!

Thanks for any help you can offer. I’m at a dead end.

Your PowerPoint deck has a size built into it. To see it, go to the Design tab and click on Slide Size on the right. You will see three options:

        [*]Standard 4:3
        [*]Widescreen 16:9
        [*]Custom

You need to build your PowerPoint deck using the same size as you want for the final video; otherwise, you end up with those black bars.

      Ronny,

Thank you for your response. I had not been creating my PowerPoint decks in the correct aspect ratio in the program. When I did that, all worked great. One of those things that are so simple once pointed out to you.

Appreciate that you took the time to provide so helpful a hint!
